“An exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral fellow to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, focused on innovative research with translational relevance. The postdoctoral fellow will perform research related to NIH funded projects at the Center for Biomedical Science and Bioelectronic Medicine at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Northwell Health, Manhasset, NY, USA. The postdoctoral fellow will study brain mechanisms with a role in the regulation of inflammation and metabolism in experimental sepsis and other conditions as a main focus. A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Physiology, University of Auckland, New Zealand working with A/Prof Johanna Montgomery. The research project examines plasticity of autonomic innervation of the heart, and its contribution to atrial fibrillation. Expertise in whole cell patch clamp electrophysiology and calcium imaging is preferred. The position is initially for 2 years, salary rate approx NZ$82,000 pa.
